COSMIC: Slap & Deep House π
COSMIC is a slap and deep house sample pack from The Producer School, inspired by artists in the dinoro, medusa, and fights space. This video showcases the full contents of the pack - from dual project files compatible with both FL Studio 20 and Ableton Live, to over 100 Serum presets, samples, MIDI files, and vocals.
What is the COSMIC Sample Pack?
COSMIC is a slap and deep house sample pack created by The Producer School. It is built around two fully produced project files, available for both FL Studio 20 and Ableton Live, making it multi-compatible across two of the most popular DAWs. The pack is designed to give producers ready-to-use tools for slap house and deep house production - from bass presets and leads to complete drum kits and atmospheric effects. The sounds inside are inspired by current trends in the slap house and deep house scene, with particular influences drawn from medusa, dinoro, and related artists. Both project files are demoed in the video and show how the included sounds fit together in a real production context.
What Serum Presets Are Included in COSMIC?
The pack includes over 100 Serum presets across four categories: basses, leads, plugs, and synths. Each preset comes with macro controls that let you shape the sound - adding more saw character, more click, or more dimension depending on what the track needs. Notable presets include:
- Bass Bourne: Inspired by medusa's latest remixes - a bass the creator has used in his own productions.
- Bass Brazilian: The signature bass sound of the slap house genre.
- Bass De Noro: Inspired by the neuro style of bass.
- Bass Luxury: Inspired by loud luxury's melodic bass style.
- Bass Ride It: Inspired by the regards hit bass sound.
- Lead Whatever: A heavily distorted lead sound.
- Lead Blown Away: A lead suited for layering over reese-style basses.
- Lead Ensemble: A staccato string sound for melodic contrast.
What Plug and Synth Sounds Does COSMIC Include?
Beyond basses and leads, the pack covers plug and synth sounds designed for melody and groove elements.
- Plug Disco Polish: Inspired by medusa's disco polish remix - a minimal but groove-heavy sound that works over a low bass.
- Plug Huts: Designed for top melodies placed above the bass layer.
- Plug Original: A unique original sound.
- Plug Vibes: A kalimba-inspired sound for textural layers.
- Synth Piece of Your Heart: Based on the widely recognised synth from the piece of your heart track.
- Synth Breaking: Inspired by the topic and A7S breaking me style synth sound.
Each synth and plug preset has the same macro system as the basses, letting producers dial in the amount of saw, click, or dimension with a single knob.
How to Use the Drum and Sample Content in COSMIC
The sample pack portion of COSMIC is built for slap house and deep house drum construction. All tempo-synced loops are BPM-labeled so you can easily stretch them to match your project. The drum content includes:
- 10 trim loops and 11 claps
- Symbols including crashes and 5 rides
- Kicks and 20 percussions - including snaps for breaks and on-top-of-clap layering
- Snares and toms - the toms are highlighted as essential for creating groove between bass and kick in deep house and slap house
- 10 long drum fills and 5 short drum fills, all BPM-labeled
What Effects and Atmosphere Samples Are in the Pack?
COSMIC includes a dedicated effects section for transitions, tension, and atmosphere - key elements in slap house and deep house builds and breakdowns.
- 9 ambiences: All key-labeled since they play a single note. Use them on the root note of your track and add reverb for an ambient breakdown effect.
- Down fillers: Mostly white-noise-based, key-labeled where necessary. Ideal for pre-drop tension.
- Impacts and uplifters for transitions.
- 10 essentials: All in the key of C, these can be pitched and dragged into your piano roll to layer on top of a standard bass and add variation. They help fill out bass lines and create movement.
What Vocals and MIDI Files Are Included?
COSMIC also contains vocals recorded specifically for the two project files. These were processed with autotune and the processing is heavy enough that the original voice is not easily recognisable. The vocals work well as chop elements or background texture in builds and drops - they were a key element in making the project files sound cohesive and finished.
The MIDI folder contains chord progressions and rhythm patterns to help producers preview presets in context, explore new ideas, or speed up the workflow when searching for a groove or progression. The pack suggests using MIDI files for inspiration rather than copying them directly into finished tracks, since staying original is important in a genre where many producers share the same tools. That said, for finding a rhythm or a chord direction quickly, the included MIDIs are a genuine time saver.
How to Get the Most Out of the COSMIC Pack
With over 100 Serum presets, two full project files, a sample library, MIDI, and vocals all in one download, COSMIC is built to serve producers at different workflow stages. Here are a few practical tips for getting value out of the pack:
- Start with the project files to understand how the included sounds are arranged and processed in context. This gives you a reference for how the bass, drums, and lead presets are meant to interact.
- Use the macros on each Serum preset to match your track's character before committing to a preset choice. Small macro adjustments - like pulling back on the saw amount or adding more dimension - can make a preset feel unique to your project.
- The toms in the drum section are flagged as especially important for groove in deep house and slap house. Try placing toms between kick hits to add rhythmic movement that bridges the low end and percussion layers.
- The 10 essentials (all in C) are versatile add-ons for bass lines. Drag them into your piano roll, pitch them to match your key, and layer them underneath a main bass preset for extra body and texture.
