Best Trance Sample Packs in 2026: The Modern Trance Revival
Trance is back, and it does not sound like it did in 2008. The trance filling clubs and festival stages again is faster and harder: a driving 140 BPM kick, an offbeat hard house bassline, breakbeats and rave loops for movement, and then the thing trance always did best, a huge euphoric lead and an orchestra stab in the breakdown. Artists like KI/KI, Marlon Hoffstadt, Sam Alfred, Pegassi and Benwal have made it one of the fastest-growing sounds in dance music, and it borrows as much from hard house and eurodance as from classic trance.
Most "best trance sample packs" lists have not caught up. They recommend packs built for the classic uplifting sound, which is great if that is what you make, but the wrong toolkit for the modern revival. So this guide starts with the packs built for the trance that is happening now, and then covers the best packs for classic uplifting and psytrance if that is your style.
Full disclosure: we make modern trance and hard house packs ourselves (Hyper, Ignite and Ecstatic), so we are not neutral in the first section. We have kept them out of the classic sections, because they are not built for those sounds. Prices were checked on the sellers' own stores in October 2026 and may include sale prices.
Quick answer: For the modern trance revival (hard, hyper and euphoric trance at 140 BPM), our pick is Hyper by The Producer School (49.99 euro, 140 BPM, 100 Serum 2 presets, 4 project files). For classic uplifting trance, it is Metta & Glyde Trance Toolkit Volume Two (MAG Signature Sound, 50 pounds, 140 BPM, 320 MIDI files). For psytrance, it is Psytrance Reflection by Resonance Sound ($34.95 on Black Octopus).
- Best for modern trance (the revival sound): Hyper (49.99 euro) or the Hard House & Trance Bundle (149.99 euro for four packs).

The modern trance revival: best packs for the sound right now
What makes the new trance sound work is the combination: hard house drums and bass underneath, trance melody and euphoria on top, and rave energy throughout. That means you want hard kicks and offbeat basslines, breakbeat and rave loops, big trance leads and arps, orchestra stabs and vocal shouts, ideally with presets and MIDI so you can make the leads your own. The older trance packs miss most of this, because they were made for uplifting.
1. Hyper by The Producer School
Hyper is 49.99 euro for the full bundle, or 29.99 euro for the presets only. It has more than 500 files: 250+ one-shots and loops, 100 Serum 2 presets, 100 MIDI files, 48 vocals and 4 full DAW project files, all at 140 BPM with keys labelled and royalty-free for release. It is built around the records of KI/KI, Pegassi, Marlon Hoffstadt, Sam Alfred and Benwal: the hard house drive under the trance euphoria, with orchestra stabs and vocal shouts for the drop.
Where it loses: it is a hard trance pack, not an uplifting one. If you want long 138 BPM breakdowns with supersaw pads in the classic mainstage style, the uplifting section below will serve you better.
2. Ignite and Ecstatic by The Producer School
Ignite (49.99 euro) leans harder towards hard house, inspired by KI/KI, Marlon Hoffstadt, Kettama, Malugi, Benwal and Funk Tribu, with samples, Serum 2 presets, MIDI, vocals and project files. Ecstatic (44.99 euro) is the more euphoric of the two, covering modern trance, eurodance and hard house with samples, Serum and Vital presets, MIDI, vocals and FL Studio and Ableton project files. If you want the whole range, the Hard House & Trance Bundle combines Hyper, Ignite, Ecstatic and Overdrive for 149.99 euro, over 20% less than buying them separately.
3. Hard Trance Regeneration by THICK Sounds
Hard Trance Regeneration is from 34.95 euro on Bandcamp (pay what you want above that) and came out in August 2026. It has 151 loops, 136 one-shots, multi-samples, Serum presets, MIDI and construction kits at 140 to 150 BPM, and it crosses into psy and hard techno territory.
Choose it if: you want the harder, faster end of hard trance. It is a little less hard-house flavoured than Hyper and Ignite.
4. Ultimate Hard House by Electronic Samples
Ultimate Hard House is $50 on sale (from $95), with 190+ loops and samples, 5 construction kits, one-shots, synth patches and project files, inspired by Kyle Starkey, Sam Alfred, Kettama and Club Caviar. It is a hard house pack first, so it suits producers coming at hard trance from the UK hard house side.
Classic styles: uplifting trance
If you make the classic sound rather than the revival, these are the packs to look at. Uplifting is 138 to 140 BPM, rolling basslines, plucks and supersaw leads, and long emotional breakdowns. These packs are built for it, and none of them are ours.
5. Metta & Glyde Trance Toolkit Volume Two (MAG Signature Sound)
Trance Toolkit Volume Two is 50 pounds (shown as a sale price) and is the deepest modern uplifting toolkit we found: 6.09 GB and 1,351 key-labelled WAVs, including acid stabs, pluck runners, atmospheres, kicks and bass loops, plus 320 MIDI files, all at 140 BPM. It has no presets and no construction kits, so it is a toolkit for building your own tracks rather than a template.
6. Activa Trance Essentials Vol 2 (Freshly Squeezed Samples)
Activa Trance Essentials Vol 2 is 51.95 euro on Producer Loops and the biggest all-rounder here: 6.26 GB and 3,367 files, including drums, synth and bass loops with MIDI, 10 construction kits and 20 Sylenth1 presets. It suits the tech-leaning side of uplifting.
7. Trance Essentials (W.A. Production)
Trance Essentials is $19.90 and the cheapest way in: 12 construction kits with MIDI in the classic mainstage style, 30 top loops, and two FL Studio tutorials with FLP files. It is an older and smaller pack (1.5 GB), but at this price it is a good starter, especially for FL Studio users.
Classic styles: psytrance
8. Psytrance Reflection (Resonance Sound)
Psytrance Reflection is $34.95 on Black Octopus and the most complete psy pack we looked at: 2.25 GB with 330 drum loops, 286 drum one-shots, 259 REX loops, 219 MIDI files, 8 drum kits for common samplers and 58 sampler patches, covering progressive through to full-on.
9. Psytrance Syndicate (Function Loops)
Psytrance Syndicate is 18.95 euro for 155 loops at 140 BPM (bass, drums, kicks, synth melodies and FX). It is loops only, but it is the cheapest decent psy option. A note on Function Loops' Festival Trance Bundle, which often appears in "best trance" lists: it is a progressive and full-on psytrance pack from 2013, not uplifting, so check the style before buying it.
How to choose
Pick the style first, then the format. If you make the modern revival sound, the hard and euphoric 140 BPM trance that is everywhere right now, start with Hyper, or the Hard House & Trance Bundle if you want the whole range. For harder and faster, add THICK Sounds Hard Trance Regeneration. For uplifting, Metta & Glyde Volume Two gives you the best raw sounds and MIDI, Activa Trance Essentials Vol 2 the most content, and W.A. Production Trance Essentials the cheapest construction kits. For psy, Psytrance Reflection is the complete option and Psytrance Syndicate the budget one.
Also check what you are actually getting. Some packs are toolkits of raw sounds, some are construction kits, and only some include presets or project files. If you learn best by taking a finished track apart, a pack with project files will teach you more than a bigger folder of loops.

Frequently asked questions
What is the modern trance revival?
It is the return of trance to clubs and festivals in a faster, harder form: hard house drums and offbeat basslines at around 140 BPM, combined with euphoric trance leads, breakbeats, rave loops and orchestra stabs. Artists like KI/KI, Marlon Hoffstadt, Sam Alfred and Pegassi are central to the sound, which overlaps with hard trance, hyper trance and eurodance.
What is the best trance sample pack in 2026?
For the modern trance revival sound, Hyper by The Producer School (49.99 euro, 140 BPM, 100 Serum 2 presets, 4 project files). For uplifting trance, Metta & Glyde Trance Toolkit Volume Two by MAG Signature Sound (50 pounds, 320 MIDI files). For psytrance, Psytrance Reflection by Resonance Sound ($34.95).
What is the difference between uplifting trance and hard trance samples?
Uplifting trance packs focus on supersaw leads, plucks, pads and long breakdowns at about 138 to 140 BPM. Hard trance and hyper trance packs add a harder, driving kick, offbeat basslines, breakbeats, rave loops and orchestra stabs, borrowing heavily from hard house. The two rarely work well swapped.
What BPM are trance sample packs?
Most uplifting trance packs sit at 138 to 140 BPM, hard trance and hyper trance packs usually at 140 BPM or faster, and psytrance packs around 140 to 145 BPM. Always check the listed tempo before buying.

Most commercial packs, including every pack in this guide we checked, are sold royalty-free for use in your own releases. Read each seller's licence, especially for vocals and full construction kits.

Some do. Hyper includes 100 Serum 2 presets, Ignite includes Serum 2 presets, Ecstatic includes Serum and Vital presets, THICK Sounds Hard Trance Regeneration includes Serum presets and Activa Trance Essentials Vol 2 includes Sylenth1 presets.
